According to the Orlando Sentinel, it's a 5,000 sq ft space that'll serve cocktails, wine and beer along with burgers (chicken, turkey, lamb, Kobe beef), apps, salads and soups. The burger restaurant will open by the end of 2015.
In 1964, Bill Shumate opened his first restaurant, a burger joint called "Across the Street" in Norman, Oklahoma. He and Joanie Corneil then owned and operated Bella's Italian Café in Tampa's Hyde Park. In 2006, they partnered with Tampa businessman Ray Leich to develop Square 1 Burgers. Together they have expanded to nine locations across West Central Florida in under four years.
