Park Lake Townhomes' Drastic New Look Up for Courtesy Review

We told you January 18th that a 21 unit rear-loaded townhouse development called Park Lake Townhomes might be coming to 744 Highland Ave (MAP).

The project will go before the Appearance Review Board on March 17th for a Courtesy Review with some signifigant aesthetic changes.

The project is both infill in character and a New Urbanist or Traditional Neighborhood Design [TND] with direct pedestrian connections to adjacent sidewalks, and vehicular access and garages accessed through an internal drive and motor courts. The design allows for intensive single family attached development and also separates vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

In addition to the New Urbanist infill design theme, the applicant has worked with City Staff and the city arborist to incorporate the preservation of four large oak trees along Park Lake Street into the community design.

The buildings are proposed to be three stories with a maximum height of 50-feet. The first floor will primarily be garages with living space above. Some of the units will be offered with 4th floor roof-top decks and some will also be available with elevators.

The developer, Icon Residential (Website), is responsible for two other Orlando projects: (1) 1800 Lee Road- 30 luxury townhouses in Winter Park and (2) SoDo Place townhouse - 23 urban contemporary townhouses in Downtown South.
