PBS + ABC in Orlando for Town Hall About the Guns and the Militarization of the Police

ABC and PBS are coming to Orlando to put on a town hall discussing guns in America (Facebook Event Page). They will specifically be looking through the lenses of militarization of police and how faith and guns interact.

The town hall is Wednesday, April 27th 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM at Northland Church (530 Dog Track Road, Longwood, FL 32750).

Press Release Below:

Please join PBS for a live town hall broadcast form Northland Church, April 28 from 6:30-9:30 PM ET. The back-to-back conversations will explore faith and firearms and the increased militarization of the police.

The conversations will be moderated by Michael Martin of NPR's weekend "All Things Considered" and are anchored in two films:
  1. "The Amor of Light" follows an evangelical minister and the mother of a teenage shooting victim who asks, is it possible to be both pro-gun and pro-life?
  2. "Peace Officer" explores the increased militarization of the police through a former sheriff who established his state's first SWAT team only to see that same unit kill his son-in-law in a controversial standoff.
EXCLUSIVE ONLINE SCREENINGS of the film will be available to audience members who pre-register for the town hall. The town hall discussions will air on PBS May 9 and 10.
