$306,594 Grant for Pulse Response Expenses

In response to last week’s terrorist attack, The Commissioner’s Office has approved $306,594 in Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE)-FY14 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) residual funds for the Orlando Police Department and Orange County Sheriff's Office to be utilized towards expenses incurred due to the Pulse incident that occurred on June 12, 2016.

This relief funding will be used to cover the costs of resources involved in the response to the incident. Orlando Police Department will act as the lead agency and recipient of approved funds and will reimburse the Orange County Sheriff's Office (OCSO).

The relief funding is pending approval by City Council on June 20, 2016

The grant will start June 1, 2016 and end on December 31, 2016.
