Winter Garden Pizza Company - 58 Health Violations

According to Star Solutions, Winter Garden Pizza company was fined $3,000 June 30th for a December 17th 2015 inspection in which 18 violations were found

Those violations included the following two:

  1. No proof of required state approved employee training provided for any employees.
  2. No written procedures available for use of time as a public health control to hold potentially hazardous (time/temperature control for safety) 

This is after an inspection just two days prior that yielded 40 violations for a grand total of 58 violations in just 3 days. 

Below are some of those December 15th violations found:

  1. No proof of required state approved employee training provided for any employees. 
  2. No written procedures available for use of time as a public health control to hold potentially hazardous (time/temperature control for safety) food. for pizzas.  
  3. Nonfood-grade bags used in direct contact with food in walk in cooler 
  4. Potentially hazardous (time/temperature control for safety) food cooled in quantity deeper than 4 inches. meatballs in walk in cooler. **warning**
  5. Accumulation of black/green mold-like substance in the interior of the ice machine. **warning**
  6. high priority - stop sale issued due to food not being in a wholesome, sound condition. monaco sweet corn cans, dented in dry storage area. **warning**
  7. high priority - ready-to-eat, potentially hazardous (time/temperature control for safety) food marked with a date that exceeds 7 days after opening/preparation. provolone cheese dated 12/3/15 and turkey meat dated 12/4/15 in walk in cooler.  **warning**
  8. high priority - cooked potentially hazardous (time/temperature control for safety) food not cooled from 135 degrees fahrenheit to 41 degrees fahrenheit within 6 hours. cooked meatballs 61ºf at 5:30pm since 9:00am in walk in cooler. **warning**
  9. high priority - raw animal food stored over ready-to-eat food in walk-in cooler. raw shell eggs over cooked meatballs in walk in cooler. **corrected on-site** *
  10. intermediate - handwash sink used for purposes other than handwashing. employee filled sanitizing bucket in handwash sink in wait station. **warning**
  11. intermediate - no soap provided at handwash sink. 
  12. intermediate - handwash sink not accessible for employee use due to being blocked by mixer. **corrected on-site**
  13. Build-up of mold-like substance on exterior of ice machine
  14. Ceiling vents soiled with accumulated dust and mold-like substance in ice machine area and the shared mens employee/public bathroom.
  15. Repeat violation: employee with no hair restraint while engaging in food preparation.
  16. Floor accumulation of debris under the 3-compartment sink
  17. Hole in or other damage to wall
By the time the Winter Garden restaurant was inspected on February 3rd, they'd cleaned up their act for the most part except for three violations for things they'd been warned about twice before back in December.
