We told you seven days ago the new downtown Winter Garden will be Downtown St Cloud because of (1) the city's plans to buy and redevelop multiple downtown properties (including a historic train station) and (2) an out of state developer snatching up a historic hotel with plans to also build a parking garage.
Well, according to Growthspotter, that developer is purchasing his second hotel in downtown St Cloud.
WHAAA?!
The hotel he is buying is called the Hunters Arms Hotel at 1029 New York Ave, St Cloud, FL 34769.
A little history: former mausoleum builder and Ohio millionaire Grover C. Hunter opened the 44-room Hunter Arms Hotel with first-floor shops in 1927 for seasonal residents. "Guests would pay a flat rate for the season, which included a room and two meals a day" according to Orlando Sentinel.
