CASE NARRATIVE 8/29/2016 5:45 AM - On 08/26/16, I Officer Morgan (30287) responded to a vehicle burglary at 15 W. Colonial Dr. (Steelehouse Apartments) at approximately 0320 hours. Upon arrival I met with the victim, identified as Daniel Aharon, who stated verbally and in a sworn written statement that he parked his vehicle, a black Hyundai Accent with Florida plate , on the fourth floor of the parking garage at approximately 1815 hours on 08/25/16. Aharon arrived back at his vehicle at 0250 hours on 08/26/16. Once he arrived he observed the driver side rear window smashed out by an unknown object. Aharon stated that when he looked inside his vehicle he observed his glove box and center console open with papers rummaged through. Currently Aharon does not believe anything was stolen.
- Aharon did not give anyone permission to break into his vehicle. He will press charges.
- Aharon was given a Victims Rights Brochure.
- After walking the parking garage I observed multiple other vehicles with their back windows smashed out by an unknown object and the center console and glove box rummaged through.
- A total of 21 vehicles were broken into.
- Supervisor Cote (16904) was notified and arrived on scene. Cote approved a CST to be sent to the scene.
- CST Kuzma (12901) arrived and processed the scene. Photographs were taken and Latents were attempted.
- It should be noted that I did not observe any video cameras throughout the parking garage.
- Victims Rights Booklets were left on each vehicle with the case number since I was unable to contact any other owners.
