The City of Orlando Police Department have an agenda item up for City Council approval for the purchasing of $356,714.00 worth of the following equipment:
- 532 Protective vests - $385/each
- 439 helmets - $249/each
- 439 face shields - $97/each
The helmets and face shields will provide additional protection for active shooter and civil disobedience incidents. Council will vote January 9th.
