Amway Adjacent Parking Lot Approved By City Council But We Still Have Questions


We told you earlier this week that The City has been letting the same company charge Amway Center guests for parking during every Amway Center event on a City-owned lot since 2011 and wants to continue letting the same company keep the same financially lucrative lease until 2022. This was up for consideration at the March 20th City Council meeting and was approved as part of the Council Consent Agenda. The parking lot is across from the Amway Center's Geico Garage at 448 S. Division Ave (MAP). 

We're going to move forward with researching this story despite the approval by City Council of the lease in order to educate our readers how the City leases property to private companies.
