SunRail is scheduled to upgrade the Minnesota Avenue railroad crossing in Winter Park from 9 p.m. Friday, July 28, through Tuesday, August 1. The work will include construction of new concrete panels and asphalt approaches to provide a safer and smoother crossing for motorists.
The crossing at Minnesota was recently added to SunRail’s Track Renewal and Grade Crossing Upgrade Project, which has replaced 54 crossings at 34 locations along the existing SunRail line from DeBary in Volusia County to Sand Lake Road in Orange County. This is the last crossing to be completed as part of the $9.6 million project.
During the closure, traffic traveling on Minnesota Avenue will be directed to use Barnum Avenue and Denning Drive as a detour. Access to all businesses will be maintained.
