Butcher Restaurant Hybrid Orlando Meats Grand Opening in Mills50

(press release)

On Sunday, November 5, Orlando Meats at 728 Virginia Drive (MAPwill host its neighbors, suppliers, farmers, and family for an old-fashioned barbeque. The whole animal butcher shop and fast casual restaurant located in the Ivanhoe Village District opened in phases this summer and is now gearing up for a party before the holidays.

The culinary team led by Eliot Hillis and Seth Parker, formerly of The Smiling Bison, will feature a limited menu utilizing a whole hog from Palmetto Creek Farms broken down by Head Butcher Raul Rubero. The acclaimed ‘Medium Rare Burger’, made with local grass-fed beef from the Florida Fresh Meat Company, will be served all day for only $7.00 (regularly $12.00). A la carte sides such as potato salad and coleslaw will also be available.

Free samples and tastings of locally produced products that are sold in the store will also be on hand. “We’re excited to show off the awesome meat we carry as well as the talents of our cooks who make nearly everything on the menu from scratch,” said Edgar Massoni, co-owner of Orlando Meats. “It will also be a great opportunity for the community to meet the farmers and ranchers that supply all of our proteins and produce.”

The event will be held during regular business hours from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Orlando Meats is a family-owned, whole animal butcher shop and restaurant that opened its doors on Virginia Drive in 2017. Through relationships with local producers they source high quality, ethically raised meat and process entire carcasses in-house. A nose-to-tail operation, everything from the animals is utilized for retail in the full-service butcher shop or processed in the kitchen for creative dishes in the fast casual restaurant.
