Using Scan & Go at Lake Nona Test Store Walmart

The only two Walmart test stores in the country are in Lake Nona at 11930 Narcoossee Rd (MAP) and Tomball, Texas. These two stores were fully reimagined from a new layout to building and environmental enhancements to added technology.

One new service found at these test stores is Scan & Go. It works both on personal smartphones and Walmart-provided handheld devices. Customers are greeted on their way into the store by a large bank of Scan & Go wands. Guests scan their items as they load them into their cart. The Scan & Go fast pass checkout lanes allow customers to bypass the traditional checkout process.

Below The Daily City walks through each step of the Scan & Go service. We recommend a visit to the actual store to test it out for fun and see what will be coming to your area Walmart in the future.

To start, shoppers can pick up a scanning wand or use the smartphone App (iTunesGoogleplay).

When a shopper is through shopping, they walk up to the check area marked with Scan & go signage. This is one of two areas shoppers can choose at the Lake Nona Wal Mart.

This is another.

They point their phone or scanning wand at the screen of the cash register to pay.

Groceries not bagged while shopping can be bagged at checkout.
