Winter Park Holiday Events

  1. The season of events began with “Winter in the Park” holiday ice skating rink in Central Park West Meadow from Saturday, November 18, 2017, through Sunday, January 7, 2018. “Winter in the Park” will include a full calendar of festivities including holiday music, games, special guests, and so much more. The rink will be open Monday thru Thursday, from 3 to 9 p.m.; Friday, from 3 to 10 p.m.; Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and Sunday, from noon to 8 p.m. For more information, please call 407-599-3203.   2. A special Holiday Pops concert performed by the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, in honor of the Orchestra’s 25th Anniversary, will take place Sunday, November 26, at 4 p.m., in beautiful Central Park. Bring a blanket and a picnic for a concert program of holiday favorites that will be sure to put everyone in the spirit of the season.   3. On Friday, December 1, from 5 to 10 p.m., the festivities continue as the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce and the City of Winter Park host Winter on the Avenue, presented by Westminster Winter Park and the Park Avenue Merchants Association, and supported by Massey Services, Inc. and Florida Community Bank. This holiday street party will feature a flurry of activities including the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, Santa and Mrs. Claus, Popcorn Flicks in the Park, The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art Open House, Park Avenue Merchant Association Holiday Open House, live music, globes of light, and so much more.   4. On Saturday, December 2, Park Avenue comes to life at 9 a.m. with the 65th Annual Winter Park “Ye Olde Hometown” Christmas Parade, presented by The Grafton Family and hosted by the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce. This family-friendly occasion showcases holiday-themed floats, Santa Claus, and well- known local figures as they make their way down the avenue. For more information, please call 407-644-8281. 
  5. Before, during and after the Christmas Parade Saturday, December 2, Leadership Winter Park Class 28 will host the 19th Annual Leadership Winter Park Pancake Breakfast, presented by Florida Power & Light® Company, and PNC Bank, at the Central Park main stage from 7 to 10:30 a.m. Enjoy hot pancakes, sausage and beverages for just $5 per person. Proceeds benefit the Winter Park Improvement Foundation in its efforts to develop adult and youth leaders through Leadership Winter Park programs. For more information, please call 407-644-8281. 
  6. Friends of Casa Feliz will present Christmas at the Casa, sponsored by Commerce National Bank and Trust, Wednesday, December 6, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Casa Feliz located at 656 N. Park Ave. Santa Claus will be on hand to greet everyone, the house will be decorated for the season, and carolers by Winter Park High School Belle Chanson will lead attendees in holiday favorites.   7. The City of Winter Park and The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art continue a holiday tradition with the 39th Annual Christmas in the Park Thursday, December 7. The two-hour program begins at 6:15 p.m. Central Park creates the beautiful backdrop for the lighting of nine turn-of-the-century Tiffany windows as the Bach Festival Choir performs in concert on the main stage.   8. Enjoy the rich sounds of Christmas as tuba, euphonium, sousaphone and baritone players of all ages gather to perform a FREE concert from the main stage in Central Park beginning at 1 p.m., Saturday, December 16. Winter Park’s 22nd Annual Merry Tuba Christmas has become a must-see on the holiday list of things to do.   9. Chabad of Greater Orlando will present Chanukah on the Park Sunday, December 17, at 5:30 p.m., in Central Park. The evening will include singing performances, live music, dancers, face painting, jugglers and food. For more information, please call 407-529-5966. 
  10. The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art will hold a FREE Christmas Eve Open House Saturday, December 24, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. featuring live music. For more information, please call 407-645-5311. 
  11. To wrap up the holiday season with a bright red bow on top, the City of Winter Park will proudly host the 11th Annual Camping World® Bowl Parade of Bands Thursday, December 28, at 11 a.m. As a prelude to the Camping World Bowl game on Thursday evening at 5 p.m. at the Camping World Stadium, school bands from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and Big 12 Conference teams will march through downtown Winter Park and perform a “Bandastic Game Day Preview” in Central Park.
