Baby Walrus Rescued from Alaskan Gold Mining Dredge Debuts at Sea World Today

A walrus calf named Aku was rescued from a gold mining dredge off the coast of Alaska. a second calf, Ginger, was born in June at SeaWorld. The calves have been socializing with each other and receiving round-the-clock care in prep to enter permanent home inside a revamped portion of Sea World's Wild Arctic animal display. Guests can see them in person starting today. Walruses face habitat loss due to declining floating sea ice and a dwindling food supply.
