We told you September 2016 that the 2500 home master planned community called The Grow was in the approval process. In August of 2017 a Judge ruled Orange County broke its own growth rules when it approved The Grow. The company behind The Grow is appealing.
To refresh your memory about what this project was about, see below.
- 9 Acre Working Farm Tract - A team of agriculturists manage and maintain the land to grow an array of foods for the community. The farm also serves as an educational venue for schools and social groups to attend programs created by the agriculturists to learn about plants, soils and farming techniques.
- 21 Acres of Community Gardens - These gardens are integrated into the neighborhoods for residents to grow their own vegetables, fruits or flowers. Residents will have the educational support of the on-site agriculturists to help ensure their gardens flourish throughout the seasons.
- Event Barn - At the heart of The Grow is an authentic wood barn where folks gather for social events, parties, meetings and even weddings. The rustic architecture and serene setting provides a relaxed atmosphere that is more country than club, and perfectly suited to celebrate any special occasion.
- Farmer’s Market Street - The Grow holds weekly farmer’s markets at the town center for residents to buy and sell fresh goods from the gardens and farm. Visitors are welcomed to shop the market, meet the farmers and explore local boutiques and cafés at the town center. This will be a destination and event you’ll routinely want to attend
- Farm-And-Table Restaurant - Adjacent to the barn is The Grow’s farm-and-table restaurant, where foods grown and raised on the farm are freshly prepared by talented chefs and served in a casual setting overlooking colorful gardens. This truly is the essence of sustainable living and exclusive to The Grow.
- Edible Landscape / Food Forest - Hike through the community while gathering fruits, berries, nuts and more.
