Can Roy's Pass Its 3rd Health Inspection of 2018?

Roy's restaurant on Restaurant Row was found to have 14 Violations during a January 18th health department inspection which required a follow up inspection. During the January 19th follow up inspection 7 live flies and no proof of state required training were found. There will be a third follow up inspection.

UPDATE: Roys passed the 3rd inspection with no infractions. It took place two months later on March 21st. 

The restaurant is located at 7760 W Sandlake Road.


Violations found during the January 18th inspection:
  1. 16-21-4 Basic - Accumulation of debris on exterior of warewashing machine. **Warning**
  2. 13-07-4 Basic - Employee wearing jewelry other than a plain ring on their hands/arms while preparing food. Watch. **Corrected On-Site** **Warning**
  3. 36-22-4 Basic - Floor area(s) covered with standing water. Near salad prep stations. **Warning**
  4. 14-69-4 Basic - Ice buildup in reach-in cooler at wait station. **Warning**
  5. 14-17-4 Basic - Walk-in cooler shelves with rust that has pitted the surface. Salad cooler racks rusted. **Repeat Violation** **Warning**
  6. 21-38-4 Basic - Wiping cloth sanitizing solution stored on the floor. Near prep sink in back. **Corrected On-Site** **Repeat Violation** **Warning**

  8. 09-01-4 High Priority - Employee touching ready-to-eat food with their bare hands - food was not being heated as a sole ingredient to 145 degrees F or immediately added to other ingredients to be cooked/heated to the minimum required temperature to allow bare hand contact. Establishment has no approved Alternative Operating Procedure.
