Mariah Carey "Honey" music video screen grab
Local high school and college students will be bottling and packaging Black Bee Honey and selling it at the new Parramore Farmers Market which has its grand opening Saturday, January 6, 2018. The market and the students will be outside the Orlando City Stadium every Saturday 8am-1pm.
The honey packaging and sales project is part of the City of Orlando Parramore Kidz Zone program's Youth Employment Program which gives students an entrepreneurial start-up business experience and helps find them jobs. The program was launched summer 2017 and has helped to match more than 100 students with jobs to date.
The market will feature:
- More than 30 local vendors
- The sale of Black Bee Honey – a startup run by Parramore Kidz Zone mentoring program youth
- A Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) booth where patrons may use their EBT cards to receive tokens to spend in the market
