Delaney Hotel Project to Get $20K Through Business Assistance Program


The Delaney Hotel and Delaney's Tavern are currently under construction with a planned opening in May 2018. The hotel and restaurant is taking shape inside the bones of a former office building and restaurant at 1315 S. Orange Ave (MAP). It's being developed by 1405 S. Orange Partnership LLP and owned by 1405 Hospitality, LLC d/b/a The Delaney Hotel (Delaney).

A requirement of this project is connection to the City of Orlando sanitary sewer, storm drainage and water distribution systems. Total project cost is $90,000.

The business has requested assistance through the City of Orlando's Business Assistance Program. Through the Business Assistance Program, the hotel will receive fifty percent, up to the maximum, of eligible fees ($20,000). The fee breakdown is as follows: Public-Right-of Way Infrastructure @ 50% = $45,000- $25,000= $20,000.

The Business Assistance Program (BAP) is a matching grant program that was approved by the Orlando City Council on June 18, 2001 to encourage small businesses to locate, expand or redevelop in the City of Orlando. The Business Assistance Program assists with small-scale infrastructure projects, building permitting fees and impact fees. The BAP pays fifty percent of eligible fees. The maximum amount granted under the program guidelines is $20,000.
