The Garden Theatre (160 West Plant Street) launches its first full season of theatre and film with "L'Ange Avec Les Fleurs," September 18-28, 2008. First produced at the Orlando Fringe Festival in 2002, the show is currently on tour around the US and Canada and was recently accepted into the prestigious Toronto Next Stage Festival as the sole international group.

The Show
A troupe of vagabond performers, along with their live acoustic avant-garde band, Bric-a-Brac, present the story of Baptiste, the world's greatest clown, and his journey to become a real man. Tired of his own celebrity and clunked on the head too many times as the brunt of jokes, Baptiste drops his bell-sleeved white costume and leaves the circus in search of self. "To be yourself, just yourself, is a great thing," he says.

The Theatre
Located in downtown Winter Garden, the Garden Theatre went through a $3 million restoration project, which began in 2003 and "showcases an atmospheric theatre in a Mediterranean Revival style..."
