The first annual Taste of Mills 50 is Saturday, March 28, 2009, 6-10pm, in the Cruises Only building and neighboring Cameo Theatre, on Colonial Dr. near Downtown Orlando (1011 + 1013 E. Colonial Dr.- MAP) in the newly-named Mills50 District. The Orlando Mills 50 Main Street District non-profit organization is the producing body behind it. Facebook Event, Facebook Group.
This inaugural Taste of Mills 50 will feature: a range of food from 10+ Mills 50 food and beverage businesses, the work of over 30 local artists, live music and performances from local bands and DJs as well as a Mind-Body-Soul area providing massage therapy, acupuncture, tarot card readings, Reiki and more.
There will also be a silent auction showcasing items for bid from area businesses as well as from supportive businesses outside the Mills 50 District.
Admission is $10 at the door (night of ONLY, no advance sales, no refunds). Paid admission includes food, art, music and 1 drink ticket (cash bar after that) as well as a limited membership Mills 50 discount card. The "Mind Body Soul" area's services will cost an additional $5 for one experience and an additional $10 will get you three experiences. Mills 50 Main Street, Co. will also be selling district memberships that include Mills 50 discount cards valid for all of 2009 as well as accepting general donations.
