Improv Guru Jeff Wirth Travels to Chicago to Teach in Prestigious Improv Festival

Jeff Wirth, local improv guru, is flying to Chicago today Wednesday April 21, 2010 to teach a high level improv workshop at the prestigious Chicago Improv Festival. We got a chance to ask him a few questions about the trip.

What will you be teaching in Chicago?

An interactive improv master class for professional improvisers (people who earn an income from performing and have been improvising for seven or more years) at the Chicago Improv Festival.

How did this opportunity come about?

I sent a proposal to the producer, Jonathan Pitts, and artistic director, Mark Sutton, and it was chosen as one of three official CIF workshops.

Have you been to the Chicago Improv Festival before?

Yes, I went with the iTeam in 2008 to see shows, and with the iTeam in 2009 to present StoryBox as a part of the festival.

What are your favorite cities and festivals you've taught in?

Favorite festivals - Big Stinkin' Improv Festival in Austin, Spontaneous Combustion in Kansas City, and New York Improv Festival in New York. Favorite cities - any place where there are people passionate about dramatic improv.

You've been helping with the Orlando Improv Festival (Sept 20-21, 2010). Why is Orlando a good city for an improv festival?

Orlando is a good city for an Improv Festival because people like to come to Orlando and because of the improv talent that resides in the area.

Whats next for you (Orlando Fringe, etc)?

Next up for me is my interactive one-man, interactive show, Plā at the Orlando Fringe.
