Morton's Steak House in the Sand Turkey District asked me to a dinner and fundraiser on a recent Thursday night. They'd invited me to an event earlier in the year, but I wasn't available for that, so two awesome writers went in my steed. This time it was my turn!
The humble exterior doesn't inform you what you're in for on the inside.
We got seated inside the private dining room. The main seating area we walked through was lovely as well.
First they poured us wine. When the glass was empty, they poured more. Yes please.
Next was a series of appetizers. I shoved this entire plate of beef thingies into my man purse before anyone else could get to them. Score.
The Salmon pizza slices were popular so I only got a slice. Or five.
This being a fundraiser, guests could bid on bottles of wine in boxes. I bid a dollar, thinking it worked like "The Price is Right."
Events like this were taking place at Morton's all across the country. Before dinner was served, we watched the streaming video from California showing the Mondavi family.
Fish with lemon and capers on top a bed of lettuce.
They offered to "butterfly" the steak before cooking, since it was so thick.
Dessert was chocolatey cappuccino-type fluff inside the cup with yummy white stuff on top.
I took my leftovers home and thanked the manager for a fabulous night. Thank you Morton's!
