I met the most adorable child on planet earth yesterday. Her name is Emerson and her mamma works with Snap Orlando, soon to become one of the biggest events in the Orlando season*. Emerson is super cute, articulate and a really good artist*.

So Emerson and her mamma come up to me at the Audubon Park Community Market Monday night while I am hawking starfish made by Doug Rhodehamel, and they tell me about a campaign she is working on called High Five that involves her selling art. She sold me a piece of art she said was going for $80 th very next day, but for me on Monday, she'd give it to me for a buck. Right place right time, right? Time? Right? I told her flat out I'd buy her piece and in so doing, purchase all exclusive rights into infinity. So be on the look out for snowman t-shirts, prints and bumper stickers: I'm gonna make a mint off this kid. But seriously, here's more information on Rising Lotus and the High Five campaign below.

Rising Lotus Children’s Village is a nonprofit children’s home providing Nepalese orphans with the hope, care and education they need to transcend poverty; secure better futures; and become positive, contributing members of the community.

By infusing Nepal with well-educated children who’ve learned to embrace integrity, tolerance, self-reliance, and innovative thought, Rising Lotus Children’s Village aims to improve the plight of Nepalese children while also directly influencing positive growth and development in Nepal as a nation.

100% of donations made to Rising Lotus Children’s Village are used to provide the deeply disadvantaged yet deserving children that we serve with nutritious food, clean water, shelter, clothing, health care, books, toys and, most importantly, a quality private-school education, all within a safe and nurturing environment.
