Winter Park Historical Museum’s grand opening party of "The Way We Were: Park Ave in the 1960s and 1970s" was Wednesday October 19, 2011. We were there to grab a few photos (and free snacks), not in that order.
"Against the backdrop of upheaval in the ‘60s and ‘70s, Park Avenue maintained its composure while an older generation sipped cocktails at the Beef & Bottle, teens listened to the Grateful Dead and younger siblings slurped sundaes at the Yum Yum Shop. These contrasts are playfully captured in a sophisticated 1960s living room where guests can interactively explore period fashion, music, television, toys, food and fads."
