10 students from UCF are gearing up to spend 16 days abroad in Germany in June, touring through 7 cities. Hallerbach's restaurant in Sanford is a Sponsor. This year the students will be keeping a daily blog.
Students are selected based on three criteria
- Never been to Germany or preferably abroad at all
- Entering or finishing up their sophomore year in college
- Good academic standing
While abroad the students will get to immerse themselves in the culture, with activities that have them engaged with the people, culture and history around them. "Assignments include researching and developing a 3 hour walking tour of a city and then acting as the groups tour guide once on location. This asks students to practice their research, writing and public speaking skills as well as develop adaptability and leadership qualities."
