Vegan Donut Brand Glazed & Infused at Dandelion, Artichoke Red, and More

Glazed & Infused (Facebook) is a vegan donut company two friends run in Orlando. Heard of them? If not, look for their products at Dandelion Communitea Cafe, Artichoke Red, Audubon Farmers Market and Edgewood Farmers Market. And if they have their way, in cities across Florida soon. Heres a brief email chat with them we conducted this weekend.

Vegan donuts? How do they taste?
Our donuts taste phenomenal. If you took a piece of Zeus' lightening, mixed it in a bowl of diamonds, then coated those diamonds in sweet sweet glaze and baked it, it still wouldn't be as good as our donuts.

How did you come up with the idea?
One day Mike had the idea to make an all natural donut because the alternative ones out there just weren't cutting it. He thought to himself, why settle for the unnatural garbage out there... someone needs to do something abut this. Mike brought his idea to Matt, whom he has been friends with for over 10 years, and Matt loved it. Matt one upped his idea and said, "why not make them vegan?" Matt at the time was newly vegan and  knew that someone needed to cater to all lifestyle choices and dietary restrictions. After spending several months experimenting in their home kitchen, they finally came up with the perfect recipe for the best vegan donut money can buy. Little did they know, they were about to change the way people would look at donuts from here on out.

Where do you sell them?
Right now at Dandelion Communitea Cafe, Artichoke Red, Audubon Farmers Market and Edgewood Farmers Market. We are also in the process of acquiring more stores.

Whats it like starting your small business so far?
It's been an exciting roller coaster ride. Who would have thought that starting up your own business would be so amazing? There really isn't a word to describe the way you feel when you see someone enjoy a product that you put time and love into making. The satisfaction we get from seeing people of all shapes and sizes smile after they take a bite of our donuts is priceless. We knew that we needed to continue doing what we were doing when we met a gentleman at a farmers market when we first started up and he said, "I haven't been able to eat a donut for 35 years because I'm vegan, and after eating your donut it brought me back to when I was 16 eating a homemade donut with my mom." The community has been amazing to us and they believe in us. It is because of them that we are a name people recognize.

Where would you like to be in 5 years with the business?
In 5 years we plan on having 6 franchise locations throughout Florida. The locations will be Orlando, Tampa, Tallahassee, Gainesville, Miami, and Ft Lauderdale. We also plan on manufacturing to sell to markets. We would like to be a household name.
