Cuts & Crafts Artisan Meats (Facebook, Twitter) is opening this Winter at East End Market but need some help, so they have a Kickstarter campaign. Cuts & Craft will combine traditional, whole-animal butchery and modern restaurant technique to produce high-quality, fresh cuts of meat, as well as handcrafted cured and aged sausages, pâtés, confits, and rillettes. Traditionally, their “crafted meats” would be sold in a delicatessen-style shop called a“charcuterie.” Because they’ll be part butcher shop and part charcuterie, they’re calling Cuts & Craft an “artisan meats shop.”
The East End Market is a public market, conceptually similar to a farmers’ market, but is indoors and will operate six days a week, year-round. Basically, East End is similar to the Ferry Building in San Francisco or Melrose Market in Seattle. Inside, there will be a number of different vendors, including a fish monger, cheese purveyor, produce vendor, beer and wine shop, specialty baker, and Cuts & Crafts Artisan Meat Shop.
