Take the Anti-Bullying Pledge at Lake Eola Park

Stand up to bullying and take the ant-bullying pledge on The Holocaust Memorial Resource and Education Center's UpStanders Family Day on Sunday October 14, 2012, noon to 3pm, at the at Lake Eola bandshell. 

Orlando Commissioner Patty Sheehan will be the Honorary Chair will read a proclamation designating October 14th as UpStander Day in Orlando. Officials from other municipalities will also be proclaiming that day as one set aside for families to be actively involved in efforts to reduce bullying.

Commissioner Sheehan will also lead participants in taking the UpStander Pledge:

  • I will STAND UP to bullying
  • I won’t be a bully
  • I won’t let anyone bully me
  • I won’t let anyone bully someone else
  • I have a responsibility to STOP BULLYING in my school and in my community
Exhibitors during the event include Orange County Public Schools, Seminole County Public Schools, Orange County Library System, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Harbor House, Rehab After Work, City of Orlando, Orlando Police Department, Zebra Coalition, GLSEN Orlando, and Central Florida Kidsville News.

Entertainment: The Rep’s Power Chords, Hagerty High School’s Jazz Band, Tony Brent (aka Pip Squeak), Orlando Circle of Friends, Central Florida Community Arts Choir and Winter Springs High School Bear Voices. There will also be children’s activities including Stupendous Stu’s balloons, face painting and crafts.

Food: CafĂ© Rouge Express Food Truck and The Yum Yum Cupcake Food Truck.
