The Color Run Coming to Orlando

The Color Run, billed as the happiest 5K in the world, is coming to Orlando on December 2nd (new date is Jan 13, 2013, location has been updated to the much larger Citrus Bowl.).  The Holi-esque Color Run features volunteers who splatter participants with different colored powders to coincide with each kilometer of the race. While some say that the run is an attempt to hijack the Hindu festival and make it into a secular Westernized event instead.  While using similar colored powder as Holi The Color Run uses them differently with the color separated along each kilometer helping showing how far along the run a participate has gone.  The event is used as a fundraiser for local charities and takes place in over 50 cities through the United States and Australia.  Registration for the Orlando event should open within the next couple of weeks.
