Aloft Hotel in Downtown Orlando Coming August 2013

Mayor Dyer mentioned it in his State of the City address in October 2011 in the Amway Center. We told you about it in December 2011. On Tuesday July 10, 2012, GDC Properties President William Ingraham joined Mayor Dyer for the groundbreaking ceremony. 

What is it? 

The former Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) Building (500 South Orange Avenue) will be turned into an Aloft Hotel (Facebook,Website). The hotel will include 119 rooms, a pool and outdoor patio on the ground floor. The opening is expected for August 2013.
