Call For Entries: Young Artists to Design Holiday Greeting Cards

*Press Release*

The Winter Park Chamber of Commerce is calling all young artists to enter the annual holiday card competition. For years students have created illustrations of what the holidays mean to them, submitted them for judging and the winners have re-created their artwork into large wooden holiday cards displayed in downtown Winter Park. However, beginning in 2012, the winners will have their artwork digitized and printed on vinyl banners to decorate the light poles along Morse Boulevard.

Entries are now being accepted on white construction paper (8 ½ x 11”) and must be vertically oriented. Awards will be presented in two age groups, 0-7 and 8-13; one entry per person, please. Artwork and entry forms should be submitted to the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 280, Winter Park, FL 32790 or delivered to the Winter Park Welcome Center, 151 West Lyman Avenue, Winter Park, FL 32789 by Friday, November 16, 2012.

Judging will be held on Monday, November 19, by a committee selected by the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce. Winners will be publicly recognized at the Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, November 30. Two winners will be announced in each age category and their artwork will be transformed into banners and on display at the event. Afterwards the banners will be hung on the light posts along Morse Boulevard and will become property of the City of Winter Park to be displayed during the holidays in future years for the community to enjoy.
