With the huge international success of that "Pirates of the Caribbean" has proven to be Disney is now looking to continue this park to screen success with another popular ride, this time though it is being developed for the small screen.

OC Registry is reporting that ABC has confirmed that the ABC Studio has ordered a script for a show based on the classic Disney ride "Big Thunder Mountain Railroad."  Co-writing the script is Chris Morgan, of some of the "Fast and Furious," "Wanted," and the TV series "The Troop," along with Jason Fuchs, who co-wrote "Ice Age: Continental Drift."

The new show could air as early as Fall 2013.  The Disney Parks Blog is also reporting that the one located at Magic Kingdom has received a new back story and will be receiving an interactive queue in the coming months.

Also in the works is a "Haunted Mansion" movie directed Guillermo del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth, Hellboy 2, The Orphanage).  This will be the second film based on the famous dark ride, a 2003 comedy starring Eddie Murphy based on the ride was made. That film, based more on the scenery than the ride's storyline, was a flop grossing only $75,817,994 with an estimated production budget of $90,000,000.

There are also talk of a live action and CGI version of "Mr Toad's Wild Ride", which closed at the Magic Kingdom to be replaced by "Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh."  The "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride" film is reportedly being produced by Justin Springer, same producer of "Tron: Legacy."  Pete Candeland, best known for animating The Gorrilaz, will be the main developer of the project.  Candeland does have former experience with Disney, he was the animation director for the awful animated film "Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas."   He also was animator for the "Aladdin" and "Bonkers" animated TV series.

There is also talk of live action films based on "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" with David Finch being involved, "Jungle Cruise" featuring Tom Hanks and Tim Allen, and possibly a Space Mountain film.  Luckily there are no rumors a live action 'It's a Small World' film...yet.
