Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission Hires New Executive Vice President of Business Development

The Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission (EDC) hired Holly Wiedman as Executive Vice President of Business Development effective January 1, 2013. Holly comes to Orlando following serving as the Executive Vice President of Strategic Planning & Market Development for The Beacon Council in Miami, Fla. Holly Wiedman.jpg"The EDC conducted a nationwide search for someone with a proven track record of success in assembling, managing and directing a global business development team on a regional scale in a large, urban market," said Rick L. Weddle, President and CEO of the Metro Orlando EDC. "And Holly fits this criteria perfectly. She has a history of experience in Florida and a great network of existing relationships within the state and beyond that will serve our team well." Holly has more than 25 years of executive management experience in economic development and has directed programs in Coral Gables and Toledo, Ohio. She is active in the International Economic Development Council, Florida Economic Development Council (receiving the state's highest lifetime achievement award - the Eunice Sullivan Economic Development Professional of the Year) and serves as the only economic development practitioner to ever serve on the board of CoreNet Global.
