On Saturday, March 23, 2013 Cranes Roost Park will host the
Magic of Healthy Living Festival. The
festival is part of a national initiative that The Walt Disney Company launched
in 2010 as a way to help children and their parents lead healthier lives. Over 30 vendors will be featured at the
event.
Radio Disney AM 990 will be on hand with their Road Crew who
will be DJing music throughout the day.
Those 16 or younger can enter the Radio Disney Music Awards Ultimate
Sweepstakes the winner of which will be given a trip to Los Angeles where they
will attend the awards show VIP style.
Actor Calum Worthy, of Disney Channel’s “Austin and Ally,” will
have a Q&A at 12:30p (arrive early as the questions are being taken earlier
in the day) after-which he will have a meet and greet with fans. (As the kids are enjoying his talk sit back and let it sink in that he is 22 years old! Think thats just from healthy living?)
Eric Darden, the EPCOT International Flower and Garden
Festival Horticulture Manager, will share tips on gardening as a way to grow
healthy food. At 2p he will do a 30min
presentation on healthy gardening. At
his booth you can also pick up seed packets to start your own garden.
The Ultimate Field Day area will feature activities like
hula hoop, jump rope, ring toss, and soccer goal attempts.
Florida Hospital for Children will be on hand teaching yoga for children.
The full festival runs from 11a till 3p
