June 8, 2013 is World Oceans Day. Disney Parks Blog is reporting a number of special events at The Seas With Nemo & Friends pavilion at EPCOT planned for the day. Educational workshops and displays will be set up throughout the attraction. Disney scientist will give talks and special talks on sharks, sea turtles, and coral reefs will also be given. An interactive exhibit will help teach how to be a wildlife-friendly shopper. A special area devoted to sea turtles will include an interactive exhibit focused on how to protect sea turtles from fishing nets. Also included in the sea turtle area will be information on the sea turtle nests at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort.
