Monsters University opens nationwide with midnight showings on Friday, June 21, 2013. The prequel to Monsters, Inc has been getting plenty of attention in the press lately but also has been shown a much larger than usual attention in the theme parks as well. From turning Spaceship Earth into a giant Mike Wazowski to having a Monster themed 24hr long party at Magic Kingdom the film has seen plenty of cross promotion here in Orlando. Disney's Hollywood Studios is now getting its own Monsters love with a new evening dance party. The Monsters University Homecoming celebration will take place each evening at 6p-10p for the rest of the summer. The party, similar to the Club 626 party that occasionally takes place at Magic Kingdom, will feature a live DJ who will be the “Monster of Scaremonies” for the show. A live rock band, Scare Supply, will play a mash-up of monster themed songs. Cheerleaders will also be on stage and Mike Wazowski and James P. “Sulley” Sullivan will make appearances throughout the each evening. The show will be a high energy mix of monster themed songs and popular dance music.
