Marlow's Tavern in Winter Park Now Open

On Tuesday June 25, 2013, the second Florida location of Marlow's Tavern opened to the public at 1008 S. Orlando Avenue, just north of the intersection of S. Orlando Avenue (17-92) and N. Orange Avenue in Winter Park.

In the unrecognizable shell of a former McDonalds, this lovely lunch and dinner spot with reasonable prices has popped up. The interior is dark and comfortable, perfect for escaping the wretched summer heat.

The Crispy Brick Chicken was solid. It's not fried. They leave the skin on. The Ahi Tuna Poke also nice. I did not try the wontons that came with it. And the coffee service comes with real milk in a tiny decanter. I love a good coffee service. The best I've had is the $20 pot at The Plaza in New York City. Try it sometime.

See below for opening day photos and a few dishes we tried.

AHI TUNA POKE $13.50: Ahi Tuna, Hawaiian Style, Avocado, Teriyaki Sauce, Scallion and Crispy Wonton

CRISPY BRICK CHICKEN $15.00: Grilled Prestige Farms Chicken, Summer Ratatouille with Chickpeas, Zucchini, Squash, Grape Tomato, Asparagus, Cracked Caper and Kale Pesto Picatta

SEARED AHI TUNA SALAD $15.00: Seared Rare, Teriyaki Glaze, Field Greens, Napa Cabbage,
Avocado, Cucumber, Tomato, Crispy Wonton
