Florida Hospital Ranked #1 in Florida

Florida Hospital was named the #1 hospital in Florida as well as in the Orlando metro area in U.S. News & World Report's annual U.S.

 The hospital had 8 specialty programs ranked in the report 

• Gynecology – #10 
• Diabetes & Endocrinology – #28 
• Nephrology – #31 
• Cardiology & Heart Surgery – # 32 
• Pulmonology – #34 
• Urology – #36 
• Neurology & Neurosurgery – #38 
• Gastroenterology & GI Surgery – #47 

Florida Hospital also high-performance rankings in Cancer, Ear Nose & Throat, Geriatrics, and Orthopedics. Items such as nurse staffing levels, safety data, and patient survival rates are used in the rankings. The rankings have been published online and will appear on newsstands August 27, 2013

“A hospital that emerges from our analysis as one of the best has much to be proud of,” said Avery Comarow, U.S. News Health Rankings Editor. “Only about 15 percent of hospitals are recognized for their high performance as among their region’s best. Just three percent of all hospitals earn a national ranking in any specialty.”
