According to the Orlando Sentinel, The Capen House at 520 North Interlachen Avenue in Winter Park will be saved and will not be knocked down. $250,00 of the $400,000 needed to move the house was raised during the Save Capen House community effort. The extra will be paid by Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens (633 Osceola Avenue, Winter Park, FL 32789). This second piece of the finding puzzle was announced at a City Commission meeting on Monday. The house will be cut in half, sent down a river on a barge, then reconstructed on the Polasek Museum land and will be used as an event space.
