Excellent news for Disney fans, Disney haters, and everyone in between on the Disney spectrum: Randy Moore's Escape From Tomorrow has not only the super-badass poster you see on the left, but Entertainment Weekly is reporting that the film, feared lost to legal limbo due to being filmed guerrilla-style in Disneyland and Disney World, will see release in theaters and video-on-demand on October 11th. This seems like a perfect Enzian film, as it has local relevance (like the still-running and worth-seeing Blackfish), artistic buzz, and just a generally cool premise. For those who don't know, Escape From Tomorrow is a neo-noir story of a man going slowly insane (or is he!?) while on vacation at Disney. We've all been there, buddy! The Roger Ebert film festival describes the film as being "ultimately being about the terror of ubiquitous entertainment." Well, get this ubiquitous entertainment into my eyeholes, and quick! Along with Saving Mr. Banks, the Tom Hanks-starring movie about the making of Mary Poppins, this fall looks to be a Disney-set movie kind of season. After the cut, check out a short scene from Escape From Tomorrow and the original poster, which is trippy and cool but not quite as I-want-that-on-my-wall as this one.
