Today, Wednesday April 29th at 10:30am, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will deliver his 2015 State of the City Address at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts (445 South Magnolia Avenue). This year’s speech will reflect on the City’s recent accomplishments in economic growth, public safety, transportation, sustainability, quality of life and ending homelessness.
Mayor Dyer will also make several announcements on the City’s priorities to keep Orlando moving ahead for generations to come.
For those who are not able to attend, live and encore presentations will be available at www.cityoforlando.net.
Following the State of the City Address, Mayor Dyer will highlight one of the announcements in the speech and the City’s priority to ensure Orlando is a City for everyone.
At 2pm at Heroe's Commons at Jefferson Park (1205 Polk Street, Corner of Benson Avenue in Downtown Orlando) Mayor Dyer will join the Florida Real Estate Foundation, the charitable arm of the Orlando Regional REALTOR® Association, at the groundbreaking ceremony for the first home built in Heroes’ Commons at Jefferson Park. This housing development will provide six mortgage-free homes for our local military veterans, law enforcement officers and other public safety personnel. At the event, local army veteran, Keon Madison, and his family will take part as their new forever home begins construction. The Heroes’ Commons project furthers the City’s efforts to ensure Orlando is a City for everyone by providing residents with access to affordable, safe housing.
Complimentary parking is available in the City Commons Parking Garage on Boone Avenue between Anderson Street and South Street. Please bring your parking ticket to the event to be validated.
