8 New Things About George Burdock + Lily Winter Park Dog Shooting Case

We combed through the police report regarding the shooting go the 11 year old dog named Lily and shared our 10 facts here. George Burdock shot the dog in the eye using ammunition containing 135 BBs. He claimed it was self-defense and said he carries the gun in his Winter Park neighborhood during walks with his wife and two corgis because he recently had back surgery.

Here are 8 new things we found on the Facebook page George Allan Burdock Shooter of Lily, which now numbers at 1,659 members.



(1) Randall Vegan-Cannon claims to be Lily's veterinarian. He posted this on Facebook: "I am Lilly ' s vet...she is a geriatric diabetic who doesn't have a mean bone in her body. Whatever "fear" the shooter experienced could not have been sufficient to justify shooting this dog in the face. If he is that quick to pull the trigger, he should not be carrying a firearm."



(2) The petition to charge Burdock with a crime now has 3,335 signers as of 11:14am on Sunday August 16th:


(3) Supporter Chris Murphy has planned a public picketing in front of George Burdock's house. He's called the Facebook event page "Don't Shoot my Dog, George Burdock." The page says "We're going to walk our dogs (in) front of George Burdock's housing holding signs and chanting "Hay Hay, Hail Hail, Burdock needs to go to jail!" The event is scheduled to take place at 5pm Sunday August 16th at 1140 Kenworth Avenue, Winter Park, FL 32789. 




(4) Lilly's owner, Ann Christensen, has shared how Lily is doing. In an email to the group George Allan Burdock Shooter of Lily she updated them on Lily's status. She "is resting peacefully at home this morning as we wait her eye surgery tomorrow."



(5) We now know who set up the Go Fun Me Page. She wrote "Our family friend, Rory Morgan, has set up a gofundme.com account under the name of Lilly's Fund. You can also make a direct donation on her behalf to the Animal Eye Associates at 407.629.0044. Any donations over the amount needed to pay her bill, will be donated to the Veterinary Emergency Clinic of Central Florida. They treated her on the night that she was shot in the eye."
