The Milk District will become the next Thornton Park. That is the desire of 33 year old developer Adam Wonus (Facebook), who is slowly becoming the biggest landlord in the Milk District area according to Orlando Sentinel.
Wonus bought up 60 (sixty) 1940s-era homes in the Milk District. Eventually all the homes will be demolished and replaced with rental duplexes.
Twenty five have already been built.
All of the duplexes will rent for $2,000/month rent.
We're renaming the neighborhood Wonustown, in tribute to the 1947 Long Island planned community Levittown.
We drove through the Milk District neighborhood on August 10th and are sharing what we found below.
Some of the duplexes are complete and some are in various states of construction. Each is spread out throughout the neighborhood.
All had the following:
(1) no newly planted shade trees
(2) front-loading garages aka "snout houses"
(3) driveways instead of yards
(4) absence of an identifiable architectural character
