The City's Song 'Fanfare Orlando' to be Played for the First Time

The 25th season of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra will be kicked off with a performance of a new piece of new work dedicated to Orlando called "Fanfare Orlando." Listen to a preview here.

“Fanfare Orlando” contains two melodies: first, the trumpets open with a sophisticated bugle call followed by a repeating 3-note chorale figure that has the low brass playing the word “Or -lan- do!”.

The composer, Keith Lay, teaches commercial popular music composition, songwriting and production technique at Full Sail University.

Says Lay on his website, "I composed 'Fanfare Orlando' for its brass section to both lift the spirit and to recognize the greatness of the people of Central Florida where our orchestra lives. We have much to fanfare about!"

Performances tale place September 30th at 8pm or Sunday October 1st at 2PM at the Bob Carr Theater. Buy tickets for Saturday or Sunday
