Ya like betting on dog fights, boxing matches or Black Friday Momma "I saw that (toy-of-the-second) first" fights? This Saturday put your money down on the kid with the meanest fiddle playin':
Twelve student piano, strings, brass/woodwinds, and voice finalists will compete for five grand in the final round of the Young Artist Competition in a public recital Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 3pm at Tiedtke Concert Hall at Rollins College.
This competition is presented in partnership with the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art and is generously sponsored by the Elizabeth Morse Genius Foundation. High school students from Gainesville to Palm Coast have applied to compete in this prestigious competition. Past winners have gone on to study at prominent schools such as The Juilliard School and Northwestern University, and many now lead successful music careers. Finalists in each category compete in the Finalist Recital, which is free and open to the public.
