Artist & Photographer and Orlando Resident Yatin Patel will debut his large scale exhibition "Sutra Collection" Saturday, September 17, 2011, 6:30pm-10pm at 120 North Orange Avenue, Orlando, FL before touring it internationally in 2012.
About: After years of traveling and documenting everyday life in India, Yatin Patel is set to launch his extraordinary series “Sutra,” a name with ancient Sanskrit Indo-Aryan origins meaning “a thread or line that holds elements together.” With his Sutra collection, Yatin reveals the beautiful textural fibers that are woven into the environments of present-day urban India, evocative of its ancient society and civilization at large. The works are printed with custom inks on rare hand-made Japanese rice paper. For the series, Yatin has partnered with Master Printer, Jon Cone, of Cone Editions Press. Cone is considered to be the first pioneer of digital printmaking.
