The Mennello Museum of American Art has several events during November and December, along with a visit through the current "Eight From Florida" exhibition and the permanent collection of Earl Cunningham paintings.
"Eight From Florida"
Continuing through Jan. 1The original exhibition features the works of Robert Rauschenberg, James Rosenquist, Jose Bedia, Margaret Tolbert, Sandy Winters, Dan Gunderson, Leslie Neuman and John Chamberlain. The artists have all created bodies of work while living in the state and have at least one piece in the City of Orlando's permanent collection. Open 10:30 am-4:30 pm Tuesday-Saturday, noon-4:30 p.m. Sunday. Admission $4 adults, $3 seniors, $1 students with ID, and free to children under age 12.

Sunday, Nov. 13Special children's activities take place midday on the second Sunday of every month. This week, kids make a Thanksgiving craft project and tour the galleries. For grown-ups, there's free admission to the museum all day, noon-4:30 pm. Children's activities 12:30-2 p.m. Free.

Thursday, Nov. 17Art educator/consultant Susan Rosoff gives a lecture and tour of the "Eight From Florida" exhibit that includes prints by both of the Pop Art pioneers. The evening begins with a 5:30 pm wine and cheese reception, followed by the 6 pm program. $5 admission, members free. Reservations required.

Friday, Nov. 18Just in time for holiday shopping, well-known artist Que Throm presents her latest collection of handmade one-of-a-kind jewelry inspired by her world travels. The necklaces include artifacs, colorful beads, amber and silver. Also, there are tribal pieces from India, Cambodia and Bhutan. Hours 11 a.m.-4 p.m., included with admission, $4 adults, $3 seniors, $1 students with ID, free to children under age 12.

Saturday, Dec. 10Pick up a dozen hot donuts for sale and browse through bargain-priced treasures from the museum's basement. It's all to benefit the Orlando Folk Festival (coming Feb. 11 and 12). 7 a.m.-noon.
