Tommy Bahamas on International Drive in Orlando Florida

Tommy Bahama's restaurant (9101 International Drive #1200 Orlando, Florida) invited me and a guest for a comped meal at their Pointe Orlando location, so I took them up on the offer Friday night. Originally, they'd invited me to a big group event, but I couldn't make it. The only thing I knew going in about Tommy Bahamas (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest) is that they make clothing for men. After a little research I find they make women's clothes and furniture as well. And some of their clothing stores have restaurants and bars in them.
They told me I'd be eating from the menu from the event I missed, but I was not expecting that menu to have The Daily City's name printed at the top. Most of this, as the Chef explained when he visited my table, will not be seen at the Orlando location until November. It will make its debut when the Times Square location opens in New York City this Fall.
Each course came with an alcoholic beverage. Yes! The first course came with a cosmo, the second and third with red wine, and the fourth with what they call a "Port of Call" (port over ice).
Snapper ceviche: citrus, jicama avacado slaw, mango mojo.
Short rib sliders: asian broth, grilled pineapple slaw, tobacco onions served on brioche.
Peach ginger soret: macadamia nuts, red hawaiian lava salt. The presentation made this yummy intermezzo look like a dollop of mashed potatoes. And someone explain this: the center had more flavor than the ends. Why?
By the time we got this delicious ahi tuna and kale salad, we'd had two courses, three drinks and sorbet. Full! But this was the highlight of the meal. Perfect, delicious, excellent.
Butterscotch cup (the cup was made of chocolate)
Malted chocolate pie
Pina Colada Bite
Pick up a shirt on your way out.
