After Demolishing Tinker Field, City of Orlando Wants Us to Brainstorm Ways to Commemorate It

The City of Orlando and the Wells’Built Museum of African American History invite residents to a community meeting to share ideas for the type of historic landmark that will commemorate more than 100 years of history at Tinker Field.

In March 2015, the Orlando City Council approved an ordinance designating Tinker Field as an Orlando historic landmark, providing the City with a unique opportunity for people to gather and learn about the history of Tinker Field.

And then they demolished it.

The City encourages everyone to celebrate Orlando’s history and participate in this community meeting. For residents who are unable to attend, the City also has an online survey residents can use to share their ideas and suggestions for the new Tinker Field landmark available at cityoforlando.net/venues/tinkerfield through Tuesday, September 1.

COMMUNITY MEETING:
  • Tuesday, September 1, 2015
  • 6:30 p.m.
  • Dr. J.B. Callahan Neighborhood Center, 101 North Parramore Avenue
