Lucky's Market Orlando Opening at UCF Waterford Lakes Area

The Metro 24/7 gym will be exiting the anchor tenant space in the shopping center at at 11750 E. Colonial Drive (corner of Alafaya and Colonial) to make way for Lucky's Market, according to Orlando Business Journal.

Perhaps it can make a dent in the death grip of Publix on Orlando.

Lucky's is based in Colorado and appears to be a lower-priced version of Whole Foods. In addition to offering typical grocery store items, they partner with local vendors and have a bulk section.

When they open a new store, they do not do a ribbon cutting. They do a slab-of-bacon cutting.

About their meat:
  1. They offer grass-fed beef, all hormone and antibiotic-free.
  2. They smoke their own bacon.
  3. Their chickens are humanely raised without antibiotics, artificial growth hormones or animal by-products
According to their website, they give a darn:
"Like our founders Trish and Bo, we’re cockeyed optimists. Because we’re crazy enough to think we can make people’s lives a little bit better. Because we give a darn."
They've not listed Orlando as one of their coming soon stores yet.
